The 15 teams who are selected from the first round are now ought to make a video of their concept/idea/project.

These 15 semi-finalists will present their videos to the jury through skype and the jury will examine and select the 5 finalists by the end of the day for the Take Off! Final in Paris.

The 5 teams will battle it out in the final stage of the competition in Paris. Each group will have to present their project to Accor Top Management.

 Topic 

Imagine how AI will enhance the guest experience in hotels.

Anticipate the future uses and expectations of our guests and find the most efficient way to enhance their experience thanks to data and AI​.

Based on your experience and knowledge of hospitality, consider a typical guest journey in an Accor brand (to define within your presentation)​.

In this global journey, isolate the main moments when the guest is faced with pain points and imagine a solution to solve one or several of these problems​.

 Deliverables 

In one paragraph, describe the customer pain point and the solution considered. You will accompany this pitch with a photo montage to submit between March 18th and April 7th.

       -   The text must not exceed 500 letters (excluding spaces)
       -   The picture must be less than 20 MB (JPG & PNG format)
       -   The title must not 500 letters (excluding spaces).

Accor cannot be held responsible for the quality of the photo posted on the website.

The selection criteria of the jury are:

       -   Innovation of the proposition
       -   Consistency with Accor's strategy
       -   Feasibility of the proposition
       -   Aesthetic of the proposition

 How to submit the project? 

To submit their project students should log onto the website: www.accortakeoff.com

Entrants must complete the online registration form, submit their project and complete the forms in full. A maximum of 300 teams will be able to register.

Once a team has validated its project, they will receive an automatic e-mail confirming that the project will be uploaded on April 7th or rejected if containing illegal materials.

You can change your project during the inscription period (March 18th to April 7th). After validation, a team will not be able to change the content.

The content of each group (text, title, and photo) will be checked by the website administrator. The website administrator will validate the information before it appears on the website. Once all the projects are checked, they will be publicly visible online on April 9th.

If the number of team members is reduced to less than 3 members, the team shall be disqualified – see Rules for further details on exceptions.

 Selection Process 

Each group will be evaluated by the number of votes collected on the website and by a jury of Accor professionals.

The 50 teams receiving the highest number of votes (from 9th - 22nd April) will be pre-selected. Out of the 50 teams, 15 teams will be chosen by a jury of Accor professionals*. In addition, some teams could be added as the “Jury’s Choice”, even if the teams wasn’t in the 50 initials.

If for any reason a team qualified to participate in Round 2 should be disqualified, the team with the next best score will be selected. 

*Jury of Accor professionals (composed of – subject to change without notice – operational General Managers of Accor hotels, HR department, Marketing Innovation Lab Department, school professors, etc.).

Timeframe to submit video: April 26th to May 19th

 

 

 Topic 

If you are among the 15 teams selected for Round 2, let’s go into detail! Describe a typical customer profile concerned by this problem and concretely illustrate your digital solution​.

 Deliverables 

In a video, describe a typical customer journey of your persona, including his/her needs, wants, goals and obstacles (pain points) throughout their customer experience. You can focus on specific parts of the customer journey, and do not have to describe the entire customer journey from check-in to check-out. In your video, illustrate how your AI solution solves these pain points.

       -   The video must not exceed 1 minute and 30 seconds100 MB (flv, mp4, wmv, mpeg).
       -   All three members of the team must appear in the video (at least once per member).

       -   Aesthetic of the proposition

 How to submit the project? 

To submit their project, students should log onto the website: www.accortakeoff.com

Entrants must complete the Round 2 submission form to post their project.

As soon as a team has validated the content of its project, they will receive an automatic e-mail confirming that the project will be uploaded on May 19th.

The website administrator will check the content of each group (text, title, and video) and validate the information before it appears publicly on the website on May 19th.

 Selection Process 

The 15 remaining teams will be evaluated by a jury made of Accor professionals via a 10 minutes conference call on May 23th where:

       -   the team will briefly present themselves
       -   the team and jury members will watch the video together
       -   the team must briefly pitch their concept/idea/project
       -   the jury will ask the team 2-3 questions (2 mins/answer)

One week before the conference call students will receive a notification by e-mail with the hour at which they will be connected with the jury. All team members must attend and to be on time– see Rules for further details on exceptions.

In the absence of any valid justification in due time, the students will be disqualified.

 

After Round 2 (semi-finals), 5 teams will be selected to the Final in Paris, results will be on May 24th.

If for any reason a team qualified to participate in the Final in Paris should be disqualified, the team with the next best score will be selected.
